Mitchell Silver

He is a prolific public speaker specialising in urban planning, placemaking, and implementation strategies. He was president of the American Planning Association and the American Institute of Certified Planners.

Mitchell is one of America’s most celebrated urban thinkers. He was selected to Planetizen’s list of the 100 Most Influential Urbanists in the world and has been honoured by UBM Future Cities as one of the top 100 City Innovators in the world.

Mitchell has taught graduate planning courses at Harvard University, Hunter College, Brooklyn College, Pratt Institute, and North Carolina State University. In 2024, the University of North Carolina appointed him a professor of practice.
